Trying out a new look with some bold coral lipstick (Revlon’s Kiss Me Coral). I’m not usually a lipstick wearer (I’m an ardent lover of mint chapstick all the way), but I like it!
On an unrelated note: Its been almost a week since I returned from the west coast, but this is the first day that I’ve actually been home! Hello, summer!

It definitely only took us about 10 minutes to decide to go to the beach! (Taken with Instagram at Santa Monica Palisades Park)
Today is brought to you by the number 7!
As in: There are seven days until I hop off a plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan!
Yeah, I’ve been saving that one… if ever there were an occasion for Miley you can be sure that this is it and I am taking great strides to make sure that my “Party in the USA” moment comes to fruition… no lie. It’s on my playlist and it’s happening.
Also, seven days until I see my tumblr/grad school BFF, ms-estrada! (Whom I will spare from any of the above embarrassment, I promise!)
Flights, car, and accommodations are all booked and there is definitely already an open suitcase on my floor, which I have been haphazardly tossing things towards for a while now. I’m subbing for at least four days this week, so I’m hoping that being busy helps to speed the week along!
Seven days! Ahhh!
A little graduation preview because my regalia came in today! That fantastic looking crushed velvet is actually light blue and not white/gray like it looks in this picture. (Taken with instagram)
Afternoon driving - a little Americana.

I got to see opening night of the Circle Players’ production of Titanic: The Musical last night at TPAC. They did such a great job!

Juxtaposing trashy-Nash with classy-Nash in one week… Lo and I had sister date night on Thursday night with Dinner @ Cafe Coco and a night at the museum trip to the Frist Center for “To See As Artists See: American Art from the Phillips Collection.” Both were AMAZING. The new exhibition at the Frist featured five of John Marin’s works! I was in heaven!
I haven’t had my laptop out since Thursday afternoon when I left school, so here’s the start of this week in pictures!
Title: GOING OUT ON A SCHOOL NIGHT ISN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE // The All-American Rejects show at Exit/In in Nashville.
We got these tickets over a month ago and despite that it was a Monday night, we’re young and free and all that junk… I was looking forward to going and definitely to reclaiming a small piece of my non-education-related life, but Monday turned out to be a hellacious day… I have a working theory that a full moon is the sole cause for hellacious days in the classroom, but I digress… I was tired but still ready for some fun. The ticket time said 7 and we got there shortly after that, parked, and then waiting out in the cold for over 45 minutes to even get into the venue. From there it was an overly crowded room, a dj in a bear mask, and finally AAR took the stage at a little after 9… and Tyson Ritter was either a) completely wasted or b) slightly wasted and acting completely wasted (the jury is still out)… definitely rudely aggressive and an angry drunk either way.
Regardless, I did have a lot of fun belting out all the tunes, especially “Gives You Hell” to no one and everyone, but from now on I should really rethink going out on school nights…
