California, here we come!
On this week’s agenda:
- Live in the sunshine
- Spend time with friends and family
- Explore
- GRADUATE!
- Take a million pictures
- Relish every moment
I’ll probably be posting via instagram, so if you have one and are interested, follow and/or comment me @elgriz!
A promise to California,
or inland to the great pastoral Plains,
and on to the Puget sound and Oregon;
Sojourning east a while longer,
soon I travel towards you, to remain,
to teach robust American love,
For I know very well that I and robust love belong among you,
inland, and along the Western sea;
For these States tend inland and towards the Western sea,
and I will also.
Today is brought to you by the number 7!
As in: There are seven days until I hop off a plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan!
Yeah, I’ve been saving that one… if ever there were an occasion for Miley you can be sure that this is it and I am taking great strides to make sure that my “Party in the USA” moment comes to fruition… no lie. It’s on my playlist and it’s happening.
Also, seven days until I see my tumblr/grad school BFF, ms-estrada! (Whom I will spare from any of the above embarrassment, I promise!)
Flights, car, and accommodations are all booked and there is definitely already an open suitcase on my floor, which I have been haphazardly tossing things towards for a while now. I’m subbing for at least four days this week, so I’m hoping that being busy helps to speed the week along!
Seven days! Ahhh!
Twenty-nine days until I’m in sunny Southern California! I’ve tried not to let myself think too much about it because its always felt so far away, but now that the one month mark has passed all bets are off!

Just ordered this so I’m ready for a year of adventure!
LA & Vegas are already in the works for May. Hoping for NYC with the BFFHS this summer. And, of course, back to Michigan!

Six hours until we can check in at the beach house! I’m so ready to be there! I desperately need to feel the salty ocean air, hear the waves crashing, and laze about reading the vast amount of books I brought with me.
Savannah is beautiful (and all of the food is amazing!), but it’s also a bit overstimulating. There isn’t enough time to do absolutely everything and it’s all historic and it’s all beautiful so you end up being slightly overwhelmed. The heat index was also 108 degrees yesterday so it doesn’t make for the most pleasant conditions in which to enjoy this fine city. I posted some snapshots from Hipstamatic/iphone last night, and will try to post some from my camera when I can get them to load, as well as some more detailed posts.
Happy Saturday!

Surprise, I’m in Florida! When I woke up yesterday morning in my own bed I had no idea that I would be ending the day at 3am this morning on someone’s couch in the suburbs of Orlando. My great aunt is in the final stages of her life’s journey and with her being my own grandma’s favorite sister, my mom wanted to be here to say her goodbyes. So yesterday at lunch we started the 13 hour drive for a “quick” trip to Florida. Today promises to be long and emotionally taxing. …and to add to the huge bummer that is the reason for this trip, I’m 30 minutes away from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and can’t go! So close, yet so far! I’ll take some pictures of palm trees for all my people in the land-locked states/countries. :) <3 E
The 1st epic adventure of 2011 goes to…

Lo & I have made our spring break plans and in 43 days we’re road-tripping it to Texas! The second week of March is never an ideal time to actually go anywhere and be warm and neither of us have any desire to join the wasted masses on the Florida panhandle so where do two art/history/adventure-loving besties go where they can be warm? Texas, that’s where. Neither of us have been to Texas so it will be a totally new adventure. We will be spending time in Austin, but mostly be in San Antonio. I’m very excited!!
